My BX is approx 8 years old, I can't say I ever checked before but I recently noticed the out riggers in the up position seem to have a lot of play back and forth. What is the normal amount of play (if any)? Thanks in advance

Mine is 7 years old - and there is play - around the pins are worn a bit, grease helps for about 10 seconds! ;)
Unless this movement is measured in 1/8" I would not be worried and grease often.

The backhoe on my B2910 is 18 years old and I never thought to check for any play. Never thought it would matter I suppose.

Next time I have it on the tractor I will have to see what kind of back and forth play there is...

Unless the parts are falling off, broke, cracked, keep it greased and keep on running it. Its pretty damn hard to gauge the wear of everybody`s out riggers because no two people run their tractors the same. Out riggers do wear, and do get sloppy over time. Out riggers are the least of my worries on a tractor.

normal to have some free play

they can't machine them tight because they'll bind up and break themselves so they allow some tolerance

what you are seeing is tolerance stackup don't worry about it unless something's broke missing wore out or whatever
