I have a M7060 tractor. Just bought a Bush Hog BH417 mower for it. When I hook up the mower, it is too close to the rear wheels so when I raise it , it can bind up in rear wheels. I cant figure out how to extend the mower back farther away from the tractor? any help would be appreciated.

Does it have extendable lower 3 pt arms? Have you tried adjusting the top link and/or moving it to a different hole if there is more than one option.

A quick attach hitch or Pat's will set the mower back 3-4 inches. Recheck the PTO length to make sure it is long enough after the adjustment.

I took a look at a picture of your mower. If you put a pin in the clevis hitch pointing toward the center the arms would be more perpendicular to the rear axle thus they would move the mower away from the tires.

A second question. Are you setting the stabilizer bars correctly? If the mower is moving to much side to side it would also hit the tires.

Some pictures would really help.

Oh boy. I'm hooking up the Land Pride RCR1884 to the M6060 this afternoon for the first time. I hope I don't have a similar problem. I ran it last year behind the MX and used the QH10. I have a QH15 on the M6060 and will report back.

Does adding the quick hitch require changing shaft tubes for all implements?
Thanks
I haven't had to mess with any PTO shafts on implements connected to the QH10 on the back of the MX. I have a Land Pride snow blower and Land Pride rotary cutter and both work just fine as they are. The Del Morino flail isn't quick hitch compatible but I didn't need to adjust the PTO shaft for that implement either.

I agree, pictures are needed. never had any 3ph implement too close on a variety of tractors.
There is 'supposed' to be a 'standard' for 3PH dimensions, so as others have said it hopefully is just a 'setup' problem.
Hmm....are the tires originals ?

I got the RCR1884 hooked up to the M6060 which is basically the same tractor as @drtom in terms of outer geometry. I discovered that the QH15 Quick Hitch isn't compatible with the rotary cutter and tractor, but had no problems getting everything set up and connected once I removed the QH.

Why would the QH not work?

That's a good question. I was going to say that the M6060 PTO output shaft is about 5" higher from the ground compared to the MX6000 so the PTO shaft makes a steeper angle relative to the cutter. However, I just went back outside to look at the cutter and I think I had the top hook on the QH15 set wrong. The way I had it resulted in the QH interfering with the PTO shaft, but disregard my comment re compatibility ... for the moment at least.

Thanks. :)

No… not unless the shafts had been previously and severely shortened. A Qh will only move the implement back a 3 or 4 inches and if your shafts are so short as to create a problem with that…they were already too short anyway.

I have a 7040 and run a 7’ finish mower behind it. of course the finish mower has the deck wheel supports which puts the deck wheels at about 8 inches off the tractor. In other words, I can step between the mower wheels and the tractor tire when the deck is fully raised. So a picture of your setup would help us see what’s going on.

Matt, you were absolutely right to question my assertion that the QH15 and RCR1884 were incompatible. With a cooler head I got the grapple on the M and then took another look at the QH15. After a bit of messing around I got it set up. Thanks for the sanity check.

Wasn’t questioning, just generally curious.
