How to correct bucket to ground level contact? Top of rear rims to ground level measurement is the same. Is an uneven bucket an issue that should be concerning or more of an irritant?

The bucket is approximately 3/4" high from ground level on the left side. Not sure if there is an easy fix or just something that I will have to live with considering the tractor is 1989 vintage.

Rick, I went through this with my then new tractor, and here is the thread that I started.

http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19776

It turned out to be a combination of tire pressure and adjustments of the FEL mounting frame to fix it.

Tnere are some other things suggested in that thread that you might find useful too. Good luck with yours.

I have had this issue with a brand new L3301. I have had a bx1500 for 17 years and never had an issue. The new tractors bucket was never level. On concrete, the bucket was 1" off left to right. I measured everything and the loader arms seemed to be off. The dealer tried to fix it but could not. They mentioned that they had several new tractors in for the same issue. One thing I noticed also was that the bucket front edge wore down very very fast. Grading a gravel driveway. In 17 years my BX didn't ware at all. I believe Kubota has decided to use a lower grade of steel for the loader arms and buckets to save money. That's the only thing that makes any sense. I realize you can tweak a loader, but considering the things I have lifted and done with the little BX1500 I surely wouldn't expect to tweak a new loader. The dealer checked air pressures as I had also and they adjusted the loader mounts as well. Neither fixed the problem and Kubota customer service did not respond to my or the dealers inquiries. Too bad I really like Kubota, but I'm not sure they are building the best tractor any longer. I sold my L3301 for this reason and others.

If your tires are all “even” (correct pressures and same/similar wear on them) then find a truly LEVEL slab of concrete (not all are really level) and park your tractor on it. Lower your bucket to the slab with the lower-edge fully down so that the bucket is truly resting on it’s cutting edge.
Relax ALL the mounting bolts on your FEL-to-tractor-frame, and then retorque them. This should adjust the FEL to the tractor frame and should solve the issue.

This is exactly how we levelled the BH FEL on my friend’s New Holland/Ford and it worked perfectly. (It’s not a Kubota problem...it’s a dealer-install problem, unless the FEL has been “tweaked” by some heavy useage.)

In any case, it’s important NOT to shut the tractor off while doing this in order to maintain hydraulic pressures while making the adjustment. After-All ... it’s with hyd pressures ON that you’re finding issue with the bucket-level!)
