Can anyone ID the year of this tractor?

It's for sale locally... haven't seen it yet, just pics.

I believe it's a 1939.... not positive.

I have read the serial# is on the left side of the engine... looks like it may be there/under paint.
there is also a number on top of the head.... is that the same # ?

any input/comments appreciated.

I believe this to be either a '41 or '42. the '39's had a serial number starting in 1
I did not liok close but probably not a 39. For one the rear hubs are riveted not one piece. Post your question and images on the 8N/9N forum at Yesterdays Tractors and you will receive an avalanche of data

well.
I don't think the # on the head is the same as the engine plate # on the side.

39 had a few notable items,
4 spoke steering wheel
no visible freeze plugs
right side key switch
starter push button next to ammeter

..... from what I'm reading online..

I dont think that alternator or the slack adjuster are OEM.

I think that 9N6050 is just the part number for the cylinder head isn't it?
