Hi Dont suggest s using the fan as it is relatively weak. I jacked up one back wheel [the other has to be firm on the ground to stop everything slipping with the dif' engaged] and used it to turn the engine. The glow plugs out / loosened were just to reduce compression so I could be more "gentle"

Thanks all. Job done using EOIC [I think]. When one valve is fully open adjust the cylinder's other valve. Well it works, and is quieter, at least once I remembered to reconnect the heater wire!

The owner's manual doesn't mention the hydraulics at all ! It is pretty old and I suspect that the gearbox oil is quite separate from the hydraulics (& axles oils). There is no oil on the dipstick to use as a guide so tomorrow I'll have a look at what comes from the drain plugs before I top it...

I have since been told that the transmission fluid reservoir is also the hydraulic fluid tank and been advised to use "universal tractor oil" which is apparently designed to be a lubricant and a hydraulic fluid.

I have a B 1502 and need to top up the transmission (gear box) oil. There is the recommendation to use Kubota's own fluid. Here, it would be hard to get that and probably expensive. It must be similar to ordinary transmission fluids. Ant suggestions on what I can add?
