Considering purchasing a Woodland Mills WC68 6″ PTO WOOD CHIPPER for My LX2610

I was lucky enough to buy a used wm-8H, an even larger capacity unit, from my neighbor and I run it on my LX2610. In my experience the tractor is the limiting factor in the performance, not the chipper. My neighbor with a 30HP tractor would chip 4-5" branches easily, but for me anything...

anyone ever use one of those fixed non-spinning brooms?

Now THAT is a good idea! Didn't even know that existed.

anyone ever use one of those fixed non-spinning brooms?

Picture a 2x2 foot pile of leaves in a line 200 feet long. In the past 3 guys with rakes working together can push a pretty large pile down the road, was just hoping to try with the tractor. It can't be blown, since it will just go back in the ditches, so it has to be transported down the road...

anyone ever use one of those fixed non-spinning brooms?

I live on a private road, 1 mile long with asphalt. My 17 neighbors and I have a road association and do all the maintenance, even paving. Of course it's not the smoothest and is sometimes loose, but we save a ton of money and it holds up fine in our mild california weather. One of our major...

PSB-2021-101 Anyone know what this is about?

my dealer said it has to do with the operator presence control (safety device) that doesn't work when you come off the seat. It should shut off the tractor, especially in a roll over situation. I'll have to wait and see once the service department gets in touch.

confused with quick hitch bushings: category 2 or 3?

that's what I do: convert my cat1 implements to cat3 to fit nicely in my quick hitch. Just seems a bit odd, with all the bushings required adding up to $50 or so. It seems to me that these QH manufacturers could simply make a true Cat2 QH, since making a QH to fit up to Cat3 starts to get out...

confused with quick hitch bushings: category 2 or 3?

My top link is 1 1/4" and my lower links are 1 7/16, which I believe are true cat3 sizes, and it fits well in my quick hitch. I guess I'm just not sure if I should continue to convert to these sizes because they fit, or am I overthinking it and Cat2 sizes are what I'm supposed to use despite...

confused with quick hitch bushings: category 2 or 3?

I've got a titan quick hitch, which I presume is the same as most of the imported versions of the same thing. I know most implements need to have bushings to convert them from cat1 to cat2, as the quick hitch accepts cat2. However, cat3 fits tighter with less slop, so that's what I've been...

    Ordering a LX2610SU

that's exactly the conclusion I came to, and have had mine for about a month now. I don't blame the dealer, but it's pretty clear to me that Kubota is "offering" the SU model as bait, but not really making them. Further, the 84 month zero down zero interest financing isn't available on the SU...

    Ordering a LX2610SU

You may want to have some straight talk with your dealer. I also ordered an LX2610SU, and waited several months. My dealer was up front, and couldn't tell me when it would get here. He let me know every week when his dealership got the allocation list, and every week it was the same: no SU...

ball hitch on the drawbar - is there a pin-on version?

great ideas everyone. I'm certainly not looking to make any device to sell, so liability isn't a concern. But it does point to the fact that there may be some inherent issues with a pin on ball, hence they are not made. Really I'm just lazy, and could just buy a second drawbar with a ball...

ball hitch on the drawbar - is there a pin-on version?

I've probably answered my own question, since I can't find one anywhere. But it got me thinking: why can't a trailer ball be pinned on instead of with the nut and lock washer? Of course the later is more secure, but I'd like to pull my little log splitter via the drawbar with the LX, unhook it...

load distribution on FEL chain hooks

Keep in mind, I have no idea what what I'm talking about when it comes to chain and tractors. But I can see a scenario in which you are dragging a log out, and the log rolls to one side, and if the chain is attached fixed in the center of the short chain with a hook one leg of the short chain...

load distribution on FEL chain hooks

brand new tractor user here, just took delivery of my LX2610! I'm about to put two of Ken's chain hook/clevis combos on the bucket, in line with the cylinders. I've chosen to not do a center hook/clevis (yet) wanting to avoid potentially bending the bucket. If I need to pull or lift something...

    Ordering a LX2610SU

Hope yours comes in sooner than mine! I ordered my LX2610SU about 6 weeks ago, and dealer has no idea when it is coming, likely 2 months or more. Did yours give you any indication of wait times?

$3000 for dealer installed top and tilt: fair?

sounds a little steep to me. I couldn't say if my LX is that different from your 4710, but my two remotes installed for less than half the cost of 3 doesn't seem great.

$3000 for dealer installed top and tilt: fair?

This is why I love kubotas and this forum! Lot's of tractors out there and lots of experienced people who have gone through the same things. Thanks to everyone. In the end I'm having the dealer install two rear remotes for $1500 (slightly less really). After speaking to my sales guy...

$3000 for dealer installed top and tilt: fair?

good advice! I'm with you, and didn't feel the $3k was crazy. Everyone deserves to make money on their work, so unless I could save a grand or more I'm leaning towards having the dealer do it. In fact my sales guy just said they could install the two rear remotes for $1500, leaving the...

$3000 for dealer installed top and tilt: fair?

the quote was for everything, including cylinders. I've asked for the quote to just install the two rear remotes, but even if that were $1800, and I got cylinders from from fitrite (maybe $1000?), I'm not saving much. kubotas own site has the rear remote option available for around $1300 in...
