    Kubota flat faced couplers

Kind of what I thought, but hoped, just maybe. I saw a video where someone made up a hose maybe 18 inch long, but with the non flat couplers.

    Kubota flat faced couplers

I have a question, and maybe someone knows the answer. When I disconnected the loader on my BX1880 this winter to put on the the snowblower, i did everything right to disconnect the lines so there would be no pressure when I hooked up this spring. Nope there was pressure in the lines, and I...

Those bolts look like ordinary bolts to me. If they are 5/16 it would hurt to try the the ones I sent a picture of. They have a definite breaking point on them. Cheaper than doing damage to chain etc.

    Deck Dolly

Seems a lot of us have the same problem storing the mower deck.. Probably just a matter of time before some one comes out with a dolly we can all buy to store the mower. I live where there is a lot of snow and don't like the idea of storing any of my implements outside in the snow.

Oh that isn't good. Was it a genuine shear bolt, or just a plain 5/16 bolt. Maybe the previous owner didn't replace it with a genuine shear bolt with lock an lock washer. if you check and find it has a plain bolt, you will understand the cause of the breakdown. The proper shear bolt looks...

Mine does also, and I oil everything with Fluid Film to insure everything stays lubed.

When you shear the bolt, the lock nut is then free to release. The lock washer actually helps to pull the sheared bolt away from the shaft. You may have to use a small punch to knock the bolt out however. Maybe a little wrench turning to help it along. I'm done.

The shear bolt failed because you ran over something, like a small rock, newspaper, that lodged and stop the blade long enough for it to shear. That is what you want. just replace it, along with the washer. Don't use a loc nut, just the normal 1/2 inch nut and bolt. Make sure you purchase...

    Rattling noise in engine compartment

I had a complete set of SAE sockets, and wrenches before any of us ever heard of Metric. It's just foolish to have both SAE and Metric in our system.. I am sure the big box stores, auto parts, would disagree, as their socket, wrench inventory for sales would shrink to half. The USA should...

I will be right there embracing the Metric system. In the long run it is far simpler than fractions.

    Rattling noise in engine compartment

In the mid 70's there was a push for the USA to adopt the European metric system, like the rest of the world. But Americans were to stuck on SAE, 1/8, 1/16 1/4 etc. The American mind just couldn't see it, but I think in todays world we have a lot of metric tools, and it would be good to get...

Woe is me... Ballast box problems

Waste of time and effort. Just sell it off for what you paid, and look for one that will fit. i bought a 3pt Hitch (Speeco), and sold it for a $55 dollar loss. A local was please to pick it up for what he paid, and I have most of my money back. There are plenty of ballast boxes out there for...

I appreciate the comment, because I have been switching back and forth between SAE and Metric. I don't have the eyes to see the difference too much, but knowing most everything is metric sure helps.

    Rattling noise in engine compartment

Yes it did. I also suspected it to be the hood hinges, but it wasn't. It was the loose fan belt. Now that I have been doing all my own maintenance, I have noticed that every single bolt, or nut has been tightened by someone with super human strength. So I know they are going to be tough to...

    Rattling noise in engine compartment

I purchased a second hand Kubota BX1880 last Sept with 80 hours on it. I have come to believe it was one of the local Kubota dealer rentals. They did zero maintenance and service on it. I had to do all the service to bring it up to acceptance, but still had a very annoying noise that sounded...

If you purchase some Fluid Film, readily available and any NAPA store for about $10 dollars you will have better success. Best find I have made in years. I put it on everything that needs lubrication
