What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

It's a shame when this happens, but not much you can really do about it. Heavy gates, massive locks, high proof chains don't do any good if someone wants to gain access or haul something off. Barb wire fence only takes a good pair of pliers and a few seconds and it's Katy bar the door.

    pto protection

Speaking as some what of an expert on resizing rocks I can tell you the blades fold back and rock shards fly everywhere. Heck, at one time I thought about wearing some catchers shin guards on backwards to keep the pieces off the back of my legs. I added an overrunning clutch on my 640 Ford to...

    Rotary Cutter - Support Chains?

That's all the chains are, a stop. Older Fords are not noted for holding position all that well. Couple that with the fact that my land is not a golf course there is a lot of bouncing that goes on. Yes it has a tail wheel, but ideally you'd like to keep it from making contact especially on rough...

    Rotary Cutter - Support Chains?

Sometimes position control doesn't keep up with what's actually happening. In my case it's resizing rocks and dips in the ground. Since adding the chains the cutter maintains the height better, and by moving the links in and out of the adjustment slots plus using the hydraulic top link I'm able...

    Rotary Cutter - Support Chains?

I put a set on my 640 Ford. My place in Utopia is anything but flat. The chains plus the hydraulic top link have made life a lot better and really saved the shredder.

    Newb with float charger question

Thanks for the wake up call. I'll see if I find out what the output is. Again, it was not the real deal, it's a Chinese knockoff. I just looked, and it is a 600 mA. Actually there is no name on it other then some electrical information and the words AC adapter. More Chinese junk.

OK, looked in my "spare parts" area and found the charger. It is a Chinese knock off..............have no idea why I've kept it, lesson learned.

    Newb with float charger question

Don't remember the brand, but I got it off Amazon, but that was 2 years ago, and I've slept since then, but best I remember it was around $28. The battery that cooked was about 4 months old if I remember right and it happened sometime during the month of Jan. Don't know how many days it did...

    Newb with float charger question

I must have got stuck with a dud. Used it on a motorcycle battery on my stump grinder. Went to use it one day, wouldn't start. Checked the voltage and it was low. Popped the caps, and the battery was completely boiled dry. :(

    Homemade 3pt hitch counterweight

This is what I made. Frame is HD 2" angle with 2 pieces of 1-1/2" flat bar across the bottom. Lined it with 3/8" plywood and added 6 70lb. concrete blocks. Left enough room at the top for divided compartments for chains/tools. Added the trailer ball. It was strong enough to help pull my 640...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

In Utopia when punching 9" holes I have to use a carbide tipped rock auger on my 640 Ford. Doesn't stop there. Got an 8' stinger coming off the rear with 85lbs on the end for added down thrust. All this for drilling in limestone and caliche. I've spent as long as 5 (on and off) hours drilling...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Rebuilt all four cylinders last week. Finally got rid of a pesky cedar stump on a hillside. The hill was too steep for both the beast and my stump grinder. 30 feet of chain and some yanking and out it came. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk

He said looking from the front, not the rear. Didn't want someone to get confused.

Are you sure? The way you described if he's connecting right to the pro pump rotation is the same as the pto. Maybe I'm missing something.
