After working with my BX2680 and front mount snowblower a few weeks ago my wife found a bolt on the driveway. I have used it twice since with no noticable issue. However, I lie awake at night wondering what is going to fall off my tractor the next time I run it. It's the 1/2" bolt in the picture. What could it be?

I had one problem bolt like that. It would work itself loose. I'd tighten it. Then it disappeared on me. Picked up another and lock-tighted it in place. Now it stays.

My trouble maker bolt attached one corner of the hoods plastic side grill to a metal bracket. Apparently that location had a vibration that would loosen that particular bolt.

Your's looks like it fastens some sheet metal or maybe the plastic pieces to the framework or a mounting bracket somewhere. Maybe....... :)

Your wife threw it out there to give you something to do to get you out of her hair.

That looks like the bolt that goes on the lower section at the rear of the blower. It holds the bracket that tensions the chain on the snowblower.

Start looking for a hole without a bolt in it.

1) wash machine real good, soap and water, dry off
2) take 123 pictures, all sides, all angles
3) have kid LOOK at the machine, say $50 if you find a bolt missing from it....

You'll have to pay him $100.:)

Could it be a bolt that is supposed to secure the door plug on a Boeing 737 ?

The first place I would look is part number 200 that retains the guard over the reduction box.

It is listed as a flange bolt 5/16 NC x 1/2 grade 2 . This bolt screws into a blind weld nut .

Somebody may have dropped it during assembly and just grabbed another one. I found I found a fuel cap down behind my tank.

I found a Factory-Identified magnetized screwdriver inside the right wing of a Grumman Gulfstream 16 years After the airplane was mfr’d….. which resolved the many years of Work Orders which could not duplicate the-copilot’s Remote Compass erroneous readings. :cautious:

(When, as an aircraft mechanic, I used the tools I originally purchased years earlier as a Toyota technician… my fellow aircraft mechanics cautioned me about using tools with my Name engraved upon them.) :ROFLMAO:
