A bit cool here in VA too...... many are looking forward to the fall/winter. Me - I love the summer!!!
It was 27°F at the house on Tuesday morning with a hard frost, but still managed to get up to 70°F in the afternoon.
Going to ride the Virginia Scenic RR in a couple weeks in Staunton. Been on it several times. Rode the 661 steam engine from Goshen 2 yrs ago.
Welcome aboard! Mid 40°'s early but already 65° at 10:22 this AM in Lancaster County. Will head out and mow after another pot of coffee / when the ambition level rises.
Actually joined a couple years ago, but never posted until now. Got a little field mowing done monday night.

Yep. I was mowing for almost 1/2 hour before pushing the A/C button today
Yea, I almost had to put on a jacket mowing the yard yesterday when the cool front came thru. Only 60 deg now.
Did get 5 gal of used oil to the recycle center today, got a lot more to take, but they have a 5 gal limit at a time.

Taken out the back door earlier.
breakfast with a bunch of us that go out once a week. Had to add air to car tires.
Beautiful maple. Got down to 40 here this morning, but no frost yet this year like you.

Our maples are nearly bare already. Hardly any color - just went green-to-brown and fell.

I live in west central Ohio, and have a small farm in NE Ohio.
Here at home dry and we have been in a drought for a couple months after very wet spring and early summer. Leaves just turn brown and drop…no color.
In NE Ohio we get Lake Effect (snow belt area up at the lake almost tonPA - snow and rain off the lake) and I’ve at least had to keep mowing there through summer and fall, but it’s much dryer than normal. We Can walk across our riverbed as of last weekend and barely a trickle in our streams. Very little color up there. Maples have some red, but not much and leaves are dropping.
Only good news is it could be crunchy for deer season…they should sound like a bunch of horses coming through the woods so should be none sneaking under me.
No frosts yet at either location this fall, but we are seeing upper 30s at night, so should be soon. (Harvest moon was this week so it should be prime time in the woods very soon)

I remember a trip thru NE Ohio, and NW PA heading to Niagara Falls in April of 1979, and snow storm hit. Barely made it thru and interstate shut down just after we got thru.

Things are starting to green up again here. Light frost the other morning. 54° here this AM. #3 Son's family headed to Raystown Lake for a few days hoping the rain doesn't get that far inland. Not a lot of color around here.

App says 57° here at camp. Eggs have been grilled and consumed, with some extras done for tomorrow when it should be wetter.
Couple good showers woke me up over night. Wind hasn’t gotten to having to take in the awning yet. Walked part of trail along the lake yesterday.
