Over Heating

My BX2370 is overheating. I've completed a rad flush, changed out the thermostat, new 50/50 mix. Im at a loss here.

Any suggestions l?

Just throwing darts here for obvious stuff:

Air filter clean?
Check the hydraulic fluid level.
Do you have little plastic hydraulic cooling fan under the tractor, is it broke?
Do you have a thermal gun (HF cheap)? What's the rad / engine temp actually read? (maybe bad gage?)

Fluids are all good, fan blade is good, belts are all tight. My head is going to the water pump now. Does the engine have to come out to replace the water pump?

As was asked earlier, how do you know the cooling system isn't doing its job? What makes you think that the water pump isn't circulating coolant properly?

lots of good advice.... also check / replace the rad. cap.

Clean rad. fins checked by shinning a light through every inch, replace thermostat, replace coolent mix, flush rad, clean pre-screen, check belt, check fan, check pump for leaks/noise/flow rate, etc.. all good steps.

A bad cap can lead to hotter running engines.

First I'll ask, how do you know it's overheating?

Fill radiator, leave cap off, run tractor look for bubbles.

I'm not familiar with the BX, but Polaris Ranger engines will sure overheat if there is air in the coolant system.

Try this ---

If you do not have a laser infrared thermometer, get one - they are cheap, and a great tool for several other problem solving activities. Some say that "these" are not accurate - I have found them to be very accurate especially at close range.

SHOOT the upper neck of the radiator - shoot the bottom neck, shoot the thermostat area and the cap.

RIGHT all those numbers down and report back.

I good flowing radiator should have almost 100F degree cooling from top to bottom.
