I'm new to the Kubota scene. I'm getting to know my new B2320 and like it a lot. I'm looking at other models of Kubotas and want to know what the basic difference is between the B models, L models, and Grande models. I confess that I find the model numbers on older tractors a bit confusing.

Now that I have my first Kubota I'm already thinking about my second Kubota :).

Thanks, James

bx the smallest, B next, L next, M next. There may be 4 to 10 different models in each series. You're right , very confusing.

Not including the new models coming out, there are like 233 different tractors.

BX is sub compact
B is compact
L standard is a plain medium size tractor
Grand L has all the bells and whistles on a medium tractor
M is the farm and utility size tractor

Some people have different ideas about tractors, based on where they grew up. For example, I was raised in town and this past summer when the B7500 went away and I got the L3200 - I thought I had a pretty beefy machine. Wifey (farm girl) was telling someone about the new tractor. In an attempt to give them a mental image of the L3200, she said "You know. Kind of a glorified garden tractor".

Are there basic differences between the B and L series? Is the L series a heavier duty tractor?

James
Yes, the L series is heavier duty than a B series. Both series have tractors around 30 hp. The L series will be about 1000 lbs heavier than the B series.

Good information given so far, but the only way you can really appreciate the differences are to go spend some time on a lot looking around. Several years ago my wife and I, after spending months on the Internet and even after having owned a BX for several years, took a Sunday and spent it going to lots and crawling around on different tractors. We did that a couple of times to full appreciate the differences within models as a Bxx20 is different than a Bxx30 and B3200/3300 is different from them, L is a lot different in many ways from a Grand L and MX is not really the same as an M, then you get into the "Special Utility" variations, it is confusing and takes time.

I think I am through buying tractors, but still wander around lots from time to time and drive through Kubota, John Deere and other lots as well.
