Not any cooking yet, but local Amish Grocery had 42# cases of chicken wings for $50. Couldn’t pass it up.

Branded Tyson. 12-3.5# bags.

I love wings, and it’s been a long time since we’ve had them.

Had some Super Bowl. First time in a few years. Those were $2.49/lb at a discount store.

Vacuum sealed them all, but might have to try some tomorrow….🐔

Thanks RCW. I like to play around. The marinade really gets rid of that flavor you get with goat and lamb and leaves it clean and almost beefy. As for the tongue, I never had it until I had someone offer me on from a cow they had butchered. I now have several in the freezer. Dice it up and serve with some fresh salsa, a cucumber slice and some fresh squeezed lime on a soft corn tortilla. Man it doesn’t get much better.
I love beef tongue, it is so tender and tasty and easy to cook! Not usually available and I was all excited when I spotted several frozen in my local country store. That is until I turned one over and looked at the price : $41! Afraid it stayed there. The last beef quarter I bought I asked for the tongue and the tail, and those used to be cheap cuts that no one else wanted. Guess we should keep it real quiet how good they are.

$41 for a tongue?!?! Wow! 😝

Of course, different times….co-worker was looking for soup bones a few weeks ago. I think she said they were $2.99/pound. 😳

So far all mine have either been from the steers we get or friends who get a half beef and ask for the tongue because they know I will cook it up and share. I have 3 more in the freezer and another along with a beef heart coming my way

My favorite donuts look just like this….

Used to get them from Lou’s Donut Shop in Cortland, New York. They also did our wedding cake 34 years ago

The Mrs did a great job…

What kind? Reminds me of some bagels from Bubba's Bagels, a former local bakery.
Those are chocolate cake donuts with a glaze. Baked, not fried.

She did glazed yeast donuts a couple weeks ago. Those are fried. Those were quite good for her first try.

Gobble gobble…..not quite done yet. Mashed taters, gravy, and sweet corn cut off the cob last year.

A quarter of beef coming in a few weeks. Need to make room.

Our daughters used to fight over the giblets. Now the dog gets them all. Two hearts in this one…

Shepherds pie and chicken wings.

I had been sampling the wings before I took the picture. Wanted to be ready for the basketball game….
