The book says sae 80 for the transmission in a b6000 is that correct?don't I need to use udt which does hydraulics and transmission. I have a front end loader on the tractor and from what I can tell the hydraulic pump pulls from the transmission.
Brown fluid doesn't seem right to me.drained the transmission/hydraulic fluid last night and it is brown throughout, it didn't come out with water at the bottom and then oil. its been sitting for 3 days if it was water I expected that there would be some separation. is that the normal color of the fluid?
also had some little bubbles
the brown is not good - not to be stupid, but a dark brown or like a glassy brown?..... unlike diesel engine oil, it get black quickly - the tranny and hydraulics should be somewhat clean.....until something gets in there and mucks up the fluid.drained the transmission/hydraulic fluid last night and it is brown throughout, it didn't come out with water at the bottom and then oil. its been sitting for 3 days if it was water I expected that there would be some separation. is that the normal color of the fluid?

Wolf - where does the brown come from? Should be nothing in there that could/would change it's color??? I would think it might not be reeeel clear but brown? Never really looked at old hydraulic fluid however!Old hydraulic fluid will have a brown color, that's normal, new fluids will be more of a clear color.
And yes if it's sat for 3 days and it hasn't separated it's not going to.
Have you ever seen 80w90 gear oil?Wolf - where does the brown come from? Should be nothing in there that could/would change it's color??? I would think it might not be reeeel clear but brown? Never really looked at old hydraulic fluid however!![]()
