All, I recently had to clean the injection pump for my G2160 - got a lot of c**p in the pump. The pump is a Zexel pump for D782 engine.

Now, the O-rings are worn, and I accidentally broke the bearing pin (a little cylinderical dowel) as well.

I checked my local Kubota dealer and they can only sell me the whole pump at $1,047. I also tried several online dealers including Messicks, and nobody can sell the O-rings or the pin, and ironically they don't even see the exploded view of the injector!

Please help!

I can not really help, but can say after reading various posts here related to injector pumps, I have come to believe, right or wrong, that a rebuild is not likely to be successful as a home project, so to speak.

Hopefully someone that really knows will add something either in favor or against what I have just expressed.

My impression is that sending the unit out for a rebuild by a reputable re-builder familiar with Kubota injector pumps is the key to success.

Maybe someone can also list some reputable re-builders? If not for the OP, for someone else that may come upon this thread in the future...

In any case, best of luck resulting in success!

I'd suggest contacting these folks. They speak clear English :) , knowledgeable, quick service and excellent prices. You may be able to purchase a new IP from they at less cost the parts and you fixing it.

If you can measure the dowel pin and the o-rings, perhaps you can get everything from McMaster-Carr. O-rings are difficult to measure so it might be best to measure the actual diameters and widths on the parts they seal. If you need help with that, a machine shop can help.

Any idea where to get item 32 for a G5200 or a D600 if they are all the same? I have delivery valves leaking....
Also, where is that part diagram from??
I never recommend anyone rebuild there own injection pumps as there are several steps the DYI person can't do, so when has a leak and you want it to run when your done, get it professionally rebuilt.

But if you want to throw caution to the wind and roll the dice.
FYI: It's a lot more complicated than the diagram makes it look like!

You can get most the parts from messicks, but as the moderator suggests, send it out unless you have the proper tools to do the job correctly. I highly recommend this company they are local to me but do work from all over the us. they rebuilt my injectors and I had 2 friends have the injector pumps done by them they do great work. https://www.dieselsfuelinjection.com/

Here is a good source for injection pumps, injectors and other services. They are very competitive with prices and have excellent service.

When I needed an IP for a 4 cyl. Kubota would have to order it, I needed to prepay, and cost was $1100. I got it from Oregon fuel in 4 days, brand new, $400. Shipped quick.
