It is not a common sausage.
barley, buck wheat, pork snouts, liver and kidneys. Modern version has beef blood. Old school has pork blood. The casing is as black as night. When split open the filling is a black mix of ingredients. A rather strong taste.
Actually, I meant the plate? it's on. :)

Made a batch of spaghetti sauce & a batch of salsa with the tomatoes, garlic, & peppers from the garden. Recipes come from my older sister. She has a knack for being able to reproduce a dish/sauce/dessert she has enjoyed on her travels. House smells great too.

Perhaps just a pauper's meal but brings back so many memories of childhood. Kishka (Kyshka) - blood sausage. Did not get it often but, man, did I love this. I bought 2. One for mom and she was delighted, The other will be two meals for me. Packed with carbs and calories but worth every fork full. Still looks like heck and my adult children hate the smell. Perhaps they are too modern and a tad spoiled.

I love that stuff. Cool it in some cast iron with butter till it explodes and the filling gets crunchy. Butter up some fresh rye bread and it takes me back 50 years

Jeepers - didn’t get a picture of 6 hot dogs and 3 hot sausages on the grill…

Wasn’t too remarkable….🥺

Tasted good though! 😋

We had buttermilk pancakes and breakfast sausage for dinner tonight 😁😁😁😁 Finally got stocked back up on maple syrup for a while. Ran out a while back and pancakes just aren't the same without the real stuff.

Mom got back from Vermont a few weeks ago and we met up with her yesterday. Hooked me up with 2 gallons 😎😎😎😎😎😎 My niece and her husband made it 👍👍👍👍👍

Gotta love da real stuff. We stock up in Michigan, and of course we also stock up on Pastys/Pasties. Generally North of Wolverine is good for them both.

The Mrs. is making a berry pie for the first time in the Pacific Time Zone. We’re literally 200 yards from Monterey Bay where our daughter lives.

she got you out of NY? 😱😱😱

🤣
She did!

It doesn’t happen often, and takes a lot of work on her part to get this big old redneck out of work and away from home.

Oddly enough, today I cooked at their house on the grill I had Amazon deliver last week.

Enjoyed it greatly…..and I didn’t go to work for the first time in over two years….best part.

I slept in to 0310 PST this morning, but didn’t move much until damned near 0800 local time. Normal Rise & Shine would be 0200 P/0500 E, so I got an extra hour of sleep.

We’ll be there for a couple more days.

Enjoy your trip RCW!

Had chicken I was gonna throw on the pit, went to get it out and didn’t have enough pellets, wasn’t going in to town to get more. Damn the luck…

Thanks!!

We didn’t have any luck fishing this morning. Son in law’s boat, has a slip in Santa Cruz Harbor.

If it gets closer, I might try Harbor Seal for supper…..
