What I have noticed with getting a heated cab is we now get less snowfalls. Go figure lol

Sounds like you fixed the problem, to me. I figure if I buy a snowblower and it doesn't snow all winter.... Hey, I kept the driveway clear!

I've been having difficulty engaging and releasing the female pioneer connectors on my tractor and implement; they seem to be failing.
One of them no longer springs back when the collar is slid open and the other one's balls seem sticky and don't want to release even when the collar is fully retracted.
I always depressurize the hydraulics after operating.
Today I got my order of a full set of new ag couplers from Summit via Amazon. $30 for 2 pairs of M&F
Not supposed to be too cold tomorrow so I might try replacing the old ones.

Today I removed the snow plow and installed the snowblower for the impending storm that is supposed to start around midnight tonight. I also changed the cab's front windshield wiper to a winter version that is rubber encased to keep the snow and ice from clogging it while in use.

Had a few minor maintenance jobs for the tractor today. Couldn’t touch up the gravel driveway because there was still a small area with ice on it. Had time to either chip the brush pile that’s getting a bit on the large side or clear some deadfall off one of the trails. Opted for chipping. Might clear the trail tomorrow.

In anticipation of the storm we are getting on Saturday I greased the tractor, topped off the fuel tanks in my genset and tractor and have all the batteries on chargers.

I filled tank with fuel that has hotshot in it, plug in the block heater tomorrow. Might have a big storm.

A delivery person’s SUV slid on the snow and ended up deep in the ditch. I showed up on the MX, hooked a chain to a clevis in the drawbar and the SUV’s bumper and drove forward. In a minute , he was back on the road. Then I realized that the MX was still in rear wheel drive only. I love this tractor.

Plowed snow and pushed banks back. put skid back shoes on, when I got done I put a contractors garbage bag over the seat and steering wheel.

Cut down another Ash tree that has blonded. Not too much on the two logs on the tractor, but was really bad about another 20 foot up. This makes the 6th or 7th one that I have cut down. This is the two butt logs.

Nephew and I worked on trimming trees. We went around with a pole saw and chainsaw cutting all the limbs we could find that interfere with mowing. I thought it take us 20 to 30 minutes, but 3 hours later we were finally done. Hauled lots of limbs to the brush pile.

pulled a few pictures from the cameras last night. I talk a lot of smack on my Pronovost Lynx rear blower, I call it crude and 'savage'... but I will never speak ill of it ever again. It did a great job without missing a beat, not even a shear pin. With enough snow it just purrs. Several areas were higher than its opening, and it just chewed away. Cleared my property, and a few neighbors. Felt so cold outside working for 5 hours at 7°. One day definitely getting a cab... Storm total here was 18"

Hooked up the battery tender to the B3200 and my Polaris Sportster. Picked up 20 gal of diesel to top off the storage tank

Started up the B2601 and moved it outside to piddle around and let it sit idling while I piddled around and got 3 things done:
1. Cup holder attached to the hole in outer left of loader tower. It's the top to a Frontier (bush hog) doc holder. Little bit bigger and deeper than the one provided on the B behind the seat and handier out front.
2. Mounted the bottom part of the doc holder onto the inside of the left ROPS just in front of the triangle safety sign. The fire extinguisher slides right into it. Had to secure with 2 zip ties because there's no room even for a bolt head, as the fire extinguisher is an exact fit. The original lips that secured this doc holder broke off. Nowhere to bolt it.
3. Moved the roll over protection folding top to the 45 degree position. Clears the garage door by about 2 inches. Will provide more safety margin that at 90 degree position. May go back to wearing my seat belt.

Not to be critical but rather inquisitive, why do you set your backhoe so high in the air? I would think you would be more stable if the back wheels were resting on or near the ground and raise the front just enough to be level.

Hi BigG,

I get a better base with it on the two rear feet and the single flat edge of the bucket in front than when I've left either set of wheels on the ground, even with a fair amount of the weight off them.....I don't get the (technical term) "wigglies" when I'm moving the backhoe arm left or right.
I also get a little more downward reach closer to the tractor, but that isn't really that much more noticeable.
