I have an L-260 that requires the use of turbine 140 oil for the hydraulic system. what other type of oil would be a suitable replacement or equivalent? I have not been able to find any reference material to help me figure out what would work.

Thanks for any help,
Dave,

85hokie,

thanks, I read that post as well, but the udt oil is a hyd/trans oil were in the trans oil is also used as the hyd oil. but the L260 has a self contained hyd system separate from the trans and is a much thinner oil. I'm not sure that the udt would work in this hyd system.
thanks for the help.

UDT should work fine in there, but if it's real cold and your worried about flow, you can use a 10W hydraulic oil or also called ISO32.

Udt in my opinion is not a heavy oil by any means. It is intended for gear trains as well as hydraulics. Its a good high quality lubricant, i wouldnt think twice about pouring it in my tractor. For me, access to it is difficult so i will be using a udt compatable or equivalent.ran it in a L4610 hst in below -30 conditions without issue.back in the good ol days adding a little kerosene was the cure for stiff hydraulic oil, would evaporate out as oil gets warm. Common here in these parts. Wouldnt use in a machine less than 15 years old, simply due to the electronics and solenoids.
