my friend owns a home with Winsbro Pex-A cold expansion plumbing throughout.

I know this is an pex-a expansion sleeve type system versus crimp ring pex-b that I am used to at my place.

Does Pex-a cold sleeve expansion and pex-b ring crimp systems use the same fittings ?

Expansion fittings are bigger which is why you need an expansion tool. You can use crimp fittings and crimp rings on expansion pex.

NO they do not - one adv of "A" is that it allow 100% flow whereas "B" uses a fitting that reduced flow.

Fittings are different !

The pipe is the same size:
You can use crimp rings and crimp fittings on Type A B and C
You can only use Pex A for expansion fittings and expansion rings.
You can NOT cross the fittings and the rings as they are different sizes.

thanks everyone.... I found a plumbing supply house only 1 hr away that carries all the fittings I need.

Pex-a cold expansion fittings are cheap compared to what Pex-b metal fittings are. The largest cost was the drive. The curse of a remote lifestyle i suppose.
