I acquired two grass catchers with the two G1800 tractors I bought a few weeks ago. Only one of the tractors has the PTO on the deck to drive the catcher blower. I'm thinking of selling the other grass catcher. Any thoughts what it cost new and what it might be worth now? Thanks.

They are worth what someone is willing to pay, they are only valuable to someone with an unit that it will fit.
In other words, run a craigslist or ebay ad and see if you get any bites.

they are not available any more.

I had 3 of them, stashed. Gave them all 3 away to a guy who buys a bunch of equipment. He said they have no value unless someone wants a grass catcher on a G1700/G1800/G1900/G2000. Grass catchers were a rage 30 years ago, not so much now. The society has become one of convenience and a mulching kit trumps a grass catcher in that sense. The only people who might want one would be a lawn care service, and 99.99% of those are using zero turn mowers and/or walkers with built-in catcher, for the 2 yards of their entire workload that wants the clippings picked up.

only way I can see any value in them is if you were to sell a G1800/G1900/G1700/G2000 (compatible with your catcher), WITH the bagger on it. It might bring $100 more than one without, but you gotta find that one person who wants a bagger system. They are a pain. More specifically disposing of the clippings is the worst part.

Long time ago you posted grass catchers for G1800.. Mine has finally worn out and I'm looking for an impellor.. I have $100 if you have a good impellor. You will need to send me a photo of your catcher unit to see if it will fit .Regards Bert email gbmoorhouse@gmail.com

LB hit the nail on the head ! Labour costs today are high, so who wants to pay to pickup/dispose of the clippings ? Similar to no-till operations... do less = higher profit.
On the other hand, I stop and get 3-6 paper bags full of clippings every week. FREE Nitrogen for the veggie gardens, mulch for the paths and each bag is reusable. Last year I bartered bags for eggs.
