hmm... could you just mount a mirror at the top of the 'A' and adjust to see the cutter ?
That was my original plan. I purchased a convex 8" dia. mirror and I could not get enough angle when mounted on the guard to see the cutter. Then I though maybe I needed a sharper angle in the mirror, like maybe a boat mirror, but decided to get a camera so I could aim it directly where I need it.

Sorry about that!
Around $300 for a 7" monitor and two cameras seems reasonable. This FXT model is a candidate for sure. There's even a Kubota orange model available. And since the monitor can be used with up to four cameras, perhaps one monitor and four cameras would cover both tractors.

Back to a simple solution. Could you not rig a mirror or two with magnets or some bracket up on the vertical arms above your shear?

Even a larger mirror bridging across if needed?

Just thinking like the cheapskate I am.

I bought a SS 8" round mirror, but there is not enough room for it to work. The brush guard is bolted to the outside of the quick attach plate, which is like 44". So if I mounted the mirror on one side there is only 22" to the center where the shear is. By the time I turn the mirror to see what I need the angle is too much and only see a sliver of the mirror.

You have to hunt hard to find someone more frugal than me, but I took deliver yesterday of this setup. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Inf...mzn1.fos.e3dc0fa2-4ee8-4881-a97d-5992ecbdb227

I saw this company on GoodWorksTractors YouTube channel this morning. They were at the National Farm Machinery Show in Kentucky. Their products seem quite expensive compared to FTX but perhaps they're better quality.

Don't you just love it when you have to play games to discover the price of something?

I'm waiting on some wiring connectors and a suction cup mount and I'll be in business. I added a brace from the upper quick attach to the head of the shear so when I pull up the shear is held in a stable position. It wasn't made to lift, only to lay on the ground and pinch!

There are many dashcams that can work here. Many dashcams have wifi capability to communicate with a smart phone or tablet. I have spent some time on the other site. I only mention it because I am familiar with it and it seems credible.

I am NOT suggesting any particular brand mentioned here. This is just to let you know about some technological advances. If you go this route you could install a cheap android radio with GPS and also buy a dashcam that will look ahead and behind you.
