Living here in the colder area of the USA and running a business for many years I see the UPS driver three or four times a week for deliverys or shipping out orders. Generally they same guy is good for a year of so then hes moved to another area or gets bored delivering
out in the sticks driving miles between stops instead of doing 20 stops in a quarter mile.
But over the years I've see a couple drivers that wore shorts ALL winter. 0*f or 20*f above zero day after day they wear shorts. Red bright red cold legs. The current driver I have is a wear shorts one. A really nice guy. But this morning it was -3*f here at 7 am. By 11am when he rolled in it had warmed to 20*F. And there he was wearing shorts. I never mention it to him but I was frozen all day wearing long johns. LOL.
I'd love to hear someone in Dulth say Oh Yes it was -20* today at noon and the UPS driver was in his shorts too !

Gosh - long since retired, but a UPS guy I knew was always in shorts.

We can get below-zero often.....he made me cold just looking at him.

I would be rethinking my employment contract with a company if they were requiring me to be in the cold wearing a pair of shorts.

My boss just bought me a pair of insulated big overalls and some other cold weather gear.

That is just a personal choice of the drivers not something that the employer requires. When I was carrying mail for Canada Post there were always a few guys that wore shorts all winter, I wasn't one of them. o_O

My brother in law wears shorts almost all the time, but he's also a very large man, so he's got plenty of insulation working for him in that case. Your UPS guy doesn't look like he would fit that description.

We've been below zero most of the last 2 weeks including minus -20F most nights and -40 windchill. Our teenage son has warn shorts outside to school/etc. every day. Drives my wife nuts. Reminds my of my young and stupid days.

My middle grandson has been the same way this year. He will go so far as hiding his pants so he can get away with wearing shorts.

Oldest grandson has decided that sweat pants are appropriate for every occasion lately. Guess I'm gonna have to start pantsing some kids when I see them. Maybe they will get the hint 🙄🙄🙄

Speaking of UPS' winter deliveries - they suck. In the past 3 weeks I have had deliveries cancelled and rescheduled for no apparent reason. They show "out for delivery" with an estimated time but then they are showing delivery the next day. Hard to plan work on my important projects (hobbies) :(
On top of that they won't come down the driveway even though its plowed right down to the stone.
At least they put it in a plastic bag and leave it by the mailbox.

Every other delivery guy (Amazon, FedEx, courier service and USPS) comes down.

A couple of weeks ago I needed a fuel pump (in the tank) for a pickup. Being thrifty I saved $100 buy purchasing the exact same pump local suppliers had online. Somehow it took three days to get out of Penn. then to KC, Kan, then to KC,Mo (which is the wrong direction) then in "storage" there. I finally spent several hours getting a hold of a human there and got it moving. Their excuse was covid and employee out because of it.

Usually when ordering things online it will say delivery in 7-10 days and it's received in 2-5 days. This item took the full 7 and then 4 more, and I was wanting it "yesterday".

I live in Canadian coldest province and have the same situation with the guy who works at the local delivery company. Despite the fact that he is wearing summer clothes at temperatures way below zero, he always stays calm when nervous clients complain about the delays. I am wondering how he can deal with such rudeness. Really wonderful guy, isn't it?! When I had problems with my package, he used his own personal account at packages24 to track my delivery. Thank God for these cute and polite workers!

UPS was here delivering yesterday Saturday. The guy said they are swamped with deliveries. So they opened up Saturdays. One driver I know that's been there 30 yrs was bragging July 1st hes already over $130.k so no more taxes taken out. He's reached his limit. So hes on track to make $200,000. this year.
