I've got a 25 hp tractor and 5' blade. If I don't drop my scraper blade on blocks but just leave it on the ground when I detach it, the next time I hook up there's a problem.

I back up, attach lower left, lower right link arms. But now the upper link arm won't reach back far enough to insert the pin. And I sure can't lift the blade. Make sense?

So if I'm without help, usually the case, I'd have to chain up, lift it off the ground and set it on blocks. Hook up is now doable. Is there any way I should be able to do the 3 point hookup with the equipment just sitting on the ground?

Don't laugh, all my old farmer relatives are long ago dust or I'd ask them. Thanks.

Just hook up the 2 lower arms, leave tractor in neutral, if on flat ground. Push the wheel forward at the top to lower the implement, backward to raise the implement, relative to the toplink...:D:D

Usually upper link is adjustable. Driving ahead with implement on ground will roll top of it towards tractor. A couple inches will do. A photo of your conundrum would help.

I clamp a wood "leg" to the blade attachment so it sits level in the operating position. Funny - I was looking all over for that clamp the other day too!

I have had the same problems in the past - I find that placing the blade on blocks or chunks of wood, anything to get it off the ground really helped me when I tried to get it back on.

One thing to remember - it is easier to raise the arms than lower them, so if the blade is off the ground, you can raise one arm at a time by hand, and then wiggle the blade around a bit to get the other one on. Having tractor off and in neutral helps a hellva lot too!
