i have a Kubota 2650.. despite my weight of 196 the tractor keeps stalling due to the seat sensor. I have had it back to the dealer, no solution there. I tried a weight with seat cushion, no better. Can it be disconnected or something like that?? thanks

Sure you can.....but it IS there for a good reason. At a buck 96 - there is no reason why is cannot be aligned to work. A dealer that cannot fix a seat safety switch, mmmmm.....let me see if a can say this without using my ugly words......would not be MY dealer!

Something is amiss with the way you sit on the tractor or the way the switch is being opened or closed while on the seat.

On my BX - if I am working on a downhill slope, digging with the FEL and I ease forward on my seat, the machine lets me know that I am too far forward with the throttle being cut!

Look carefully at the switch - see that it is aligned to the right position, if all that is perfect - replace the switch. If that does not work.......a zip tie will fix it for a while, but that would be my last thought.;)

I know what you are talking about because some times when I look backwards or lean to see something, that switch tells me that I am not putting enough pressure on it. As soon as it starts to stall, I shift my weight and everything is fine.

My 132 lbs was enough to make 4 of the b2650s I tried before I bought mine happy, but not mine. A temporary fix was a small piece of styrofoam in the center of the seat, but my dealer ordered a new switch and that solved the problem. The seat switch on this model is embedded in the center of a cushion which is held in position with velcro. It is trivial to replace, just undo velcro and unplug connector. Your dealer needs to at least try that. In the meantime experiment with something that will add pressure only to the middle of the seat.

The shape of my piece of styrofoam was about 6 by 8 by .75 inches, and it squashed down. It was surprisingly not uncomfortable.

I zip-tied mine to stay made at all times. How am I supposed to stuff the chipper and be in the seat at the same time? C'mon Man.....:D

I don't know if this is possible but I'm going to try anyhow. My plan is to have an override switch. One way the seat switch functions normally, the other way the seat switch doesn't turn the tractor off, but instead turns on a buzzer when you're out of the seat.

If yours is like mine, you can tuck the switch "stick" under the wiring harness that's there under the seat and it will solve the issue you describe. It won't solve the "safety" aspect in a rollover though. And I weigh 200 lbs :p Having a selectable switch may be a good option.
I did this to my L3800 as I work on hills and found it far more dangerous to have the motor cutting in and out while working on slopes.

Oh, I know I can override the switch, there are just certain times when I want to temporarily override it, but I want a reminder to turn it back on.

Same problem for me too, It would shut off for no reason, Replaced the switch and was better for a couple of weeks. Didnt want to eliminate it so I added some 2 inch Velcro to the top of the switch-Was just enough thickness to do the trick.
