If you have forks, there are a couple of links to add a lid to forks in this thread you might find helpful. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/...-a-grapple-or-4-way-bucket.55425/#post-516245

Adding a thumb/lid to a bucket… maybe someone has one. I’ve not known or heard of anyone that actually has one.

This is mine, about 16 or 18 years ago I installed it on my BX22. The company that made this is no longer making tractor implements. It wouldn't be difficult to make one if you can weld. The nice thing is that you can remove it when you don't need it by pulling 2 pins and disconnecting the 2 hoses.

Google precision Manufacturing and they make a grapple to go on your bucket. I’ve had one for 18 years. It makes your bucket so much more effective. Well worth the money.

I have one of these and love it. Called “The Thumb” by Greens-Machine Shop.
Do you have photos?

I want "the thumb". I'd like to get a separate mounting base and use it on my forks AND my bucket. However, my forks are 42". The ideal length for my bucket is much shorter than the ideal length for my forks.

Do you have any advice for me on which way to go with that?

This was Right after I put it on in 2015. I have used it a lot moving stuff including lots of logs. It is on my B2920.

I used one just like BAP recommended for ~ 15 years. Loved it, you'ii be amazed how handy they are. I welded mine on and beefed up top edge of bucket with angle iron.
