Hugo's 100% correct about 'rounding the corners' ! smoooooth transitions allow more paint to floooooow and get a thicker coverage but you'll find there's a LOT of sharp corners to smooth over. Don't worry about the fork 'notches', they'll get chipped..nature of the beast.
well worth the $$ to have it sandblasted as it does 95% of the hard work.

If you have all this spare time to repaint a set of pallet forks, I've got plenty to keep you busy with down in VA 😅

I'm pretty sure the accepted method is:
1.) Wash thoroughly with pressurized gasoline.
2.) 12 coats of blue out of a Wagner house sprayer.
3.) Level your realm.
😬

Extra points for wearing sandals and painting your toes with the over-spray. 🤣

So you learned some of Joe's secrets from that thread 😳.

If you plan on leaving them outdoors why bother painting. Just wire brush the old loose stuff off and get a can of rust encaplulator or por15 for the bad areas and to seal the powder coat edges.

Why you always ragging on that man? He did more with nothing, in a dirt floor hut than most could do here with full “shops”.
Was everything the correct way, no, but it got done and his tractor is running and doing work.

@nerwin wire brush the rust then spray bomb, tractor on.
