Hello, this is my first post here. My wife and I just purchased my parents old home, they wanted to downsize. I grew up in this house. We have lived in a subdivision for the last 16 years so getting back to having land is very exciting for us. I have a background in running equipment. I work as an electrician now but did run heavy equipment for about 10 years to make a living. We still run equipment, bucket trucks skid loaders, excavators, etc. With all that said we will have 10 acres. Most of it is wooded. There will be about 2.5 acres to mow. Currently this is more of a field not lawn. There is a lawn around the home I will mow with a garden tractor. I have always run John Deere tractors. From my grandfathers farm, my uncles or my dad. With that said I went and looked at them first. I do like the 3r series tractors but don't have the cash for such and overpriced tractor. The John Deere 3e series is so cheap looking I have zero interest in owning one. The Kubota L series is in my price range and has the build quality im looking for. I'm looking to run a 60" finish mower (72" if I could swing it) to mow the 2.5 acres. After that I will be using the loader to move brush, landscape, cut and haul trees and just lend a hand in pushing the woods back a little. I love the fact the l2501 doesn't have the emissions crap on it. Is it enough tractor for what I'm doing? Can it run a 72" finish mower? Thanks for reading my long rambling post.
