I realize that no area in the world is safe from some sort of disaster. Our part of the country has experienced some flooding, severe storms and even a few tornadoes. Wherever you were born is your home and I understand not wanting to relocate to escape the occasional apocalypse if you think that's normal.
As an outsider, I couldn't tolerate living in tornado alley where I'd need to sleep lightly for a good part of the year so I could hear warning sirens and run to my fraidy hole. Then emerge to check if my house was still there.
I thank God, he has spared my family from being in the middle of any tornado weak or wow! I have seen them from a distance and could seed the debris flying around knowing full well someone was having a very bad day. I have always been a storm watcher not chaser. The power of weather has always fascinated me.
