I wish that some of the old threads not be resurrected, and new ones started instead. This thread is 7 years old and should have stayed in the archives instead of being brought back to life. Necroing is just wrong on so many levels! I had to look at the date of the original post to figure it out.

I made it home today from my trip and can say my trip was none of the hype that the media had projected. We were in a rural area of New York on Lake Erie and the local restaurants and wineries had signs $20 for parking etc. It was a a bit cloudier than we hoped but still got the full experience and views even with the clouds. We w saw about 20 other people, had no significant traffic for my 1800 mile trip as my wife and I hit several other areas such as Niagara Falls on the trip. The experience of a total eclipse is amazing. Great first trip form my retirement!

finally figured out how to upload a time lapse. Starts at about 15 min before totality, ends about 12 min after. Note the light from the truck came on. GF got scared and wanted to go sit in the truck. I told her the mountain lions were gonna come out when it got dark.

Some of us will take fun whenever we can find it! Love your time lapse!
