one of these days, i'll learn to be more gentle with my machine. snapped one of the pins that holds the 3-point sway linkage - right at the rear frame where it connects. must've happened to the last owner of this, because the other side has a bolt with a nylock nut on it. anyone know what size pin this is? the kubota part is TA140-39820, but they never give you measurements or details of the parts. wish i would've thought to measure the hole - i could just do the same thing he did and buy a grade 8 bolt and a nylock nut.

I've broken a couple (also have a grade 2 bolt and lock nut back there) I wouldn't go grade 8 (something more expensive might break). Mine is a different model but I would suggest getting a few sizes and lengths to keep in stock - never know what size might break next time!!

When I do know the size I need, I buy a half dozen - I need to remember to stock up on my mower's shear bolt size (I'm running low!)

From pictures at Messicks it appears to be a 1/2" x 3-1/2" (usable length) clevis pin.

^^^^ THIS ****

Do NOT use Grade 8 bolts in basic-frame attachments. A “pin” is SUPPOSED to Shear…. instead of expensive damage to major equipment and tractor-frames.

(and carefully reconsider / avoid using Grade 5)

IMO

@TheOldHokie thanks for that, maybe i'll get a pin instead of a bolt.

@GeoHorn fair point. it did bend the connector bits on the arm when it sheared off... my hope was with a bolt i might be able to straighten that out. maybe i'll just have to pull it and take it to a vise.

7/16" works fine, 12MM is the correct size.
