Anybody else being invaded by these damn things ? I have to beat on the screen door and shake them off before I go out side. Does anyone know anything that will kill these things?

Peppermint oil repels them. Dilute it in a spray bottle and spray around your windows and doors. That will repel most of them

Soap and water they say, no need to use chemicals.

Couple years back I went full-on in my attack against them and found a method that works great:
Wet dry vac with a ton of extensions.....!!! Just keep sucking them all up! worked well. Haven't seen them back in large numbers since. lol

I use a crossman pellet pistol, no pellet loaded, pumped up 2-3 pumps, muzzle within 3" of the bugs. Not a very efficient method.

I got a Bug-A-Salt to blast em. Cold weather coming soon that should get rid of them for awhile.

To capture the bugs, mix a good squirt of dish washing liquid with water in a container, then hold the container under them since they are stupid enough to let themselves drop. The soap prevents them from floating and they drown. For less stink, use toilet bowl cleaner that has bleach instead of the dish washing liquid.

As mentioned, a vacuum cleaner is the wrong tool, especially the type that pulls the dirt thru the impeller before the bag.

The bugs are hard to kill, some sprays knock them down making you think they are killed but they recover later.

If you repeated see them at the same place, know that they leave a scent trail for others to follow. Wash that area with soap and water to reduce that traffic.

Bunch here in upstate New York too.

Not as bad as the friggin’ mosquitoes and black flies though. Been a wet summer.

I spray with Ortho Home Defence, and it kills them quickly, and it lasts for 4 or 5 months.

TelStar is the spray I use, it will not harm pets (when it dries), leaves no odor, lasts about 30-45 days.

I just sprayed around the perimeter of my house, plus what windows and doors I could hit. The problem is, that if they don't land where the Talstar was applied it doesn't do any good. We have lots of them in central KY.

Yes they have to come in contact with the product, my goal using Telstar is to keep them from entering my home as much as possible. Stink bugs main objective is to enter a warm, dry environment to make it through the winter. Once they are in your home where it is warm they maintain being active all winter long. If they get into a shed or unheated building they huddle together in enclosed tight crevices to hibernate through the winter.

I found this exact thing in my shop yesterday. There were probably 20+ grouped together under a foam pad I had hung on the wall.

I've started setting off bug bombs in our home attic space periodically. That has seemed to help some too.

Wow, glad we don't have this problem too much in NH where I live. Probably too cold in the winter.
