Tired of fighting turnbuckles, so I am looking for a set of replacement stabilizers for my L2900. Thought I would check out the Kubota L8430 kit, which is supposed to fit the L-series.
Didn’t see the L2900 listed on the dozen or so L-series models on the Messick’s page. It apparently works for the L2800 and the L3000...but a rep there said it wouldn’t, for some reason, fit the model sandwiched between those two in the L-series lineup.
Since I am a dogged cuss, I contacted Mark Hodges from Stabilworks, and he replied “There is no reason, that I know of, that significantly differentiates the stabilizer set up between an L2800 and an L2900. I've built the same set of stabilizers for both- actually, all of the L series, other than the L2000, take the same set- with no issues.” He said there was a very slight difference in the mounting points on the stabilizers.
Can anyone confirm or refute this?

I can't answer you question but watch this Messick's video about installing the telescopic stabilizers on an L series and see how your originals compares. It may or may not give you enough to be confident about trying. CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO

Yeah, saw that.
Looks easy-peasy...probably all of an hour to do. I’ve looked at the arms and cannot for the life of me see any substantial difference.

Hodges is the man with the right info, he's done more work with these than anyone else!

I can confirm that it does work on an L2800 (very nicely, I might add). $178.50 on 3/2011

I wasn't totally happy when I first got them. Plenty of "play" after they were installed. I've also have sheared 3 bolts with them (never could figure out why). In fact, the last time was with my rear mower less than a month ago...

Well, I took a leap of faith and bought the L8430 kit from my dealer...despite a rep from Messicks maintaining that they would not a fit for the L2900.
Technically, they were correct. The mounting points on the L2900 are about a hair too thick for the new stabilizing arms to slide over. A couple of minutes with a grinder on the mounting points to shave off about a millimetre worth of metal, and the new ones fit like they were custom made for it.
