You have FEL on that tractor? Curl the bucket - rotate the wheel by hand once off the ground and see if you can pinpoint the soundIn this cold weather, my front wheel has been squeaking until it warms up. Is a bearing the only thing that could squeak on a B8200?
I will check wheel using your suggestion. That’s a good idea. I check the front end once a year or so. It’s probably good but I will check again. You have FEL on that tractor? Curl the bucket - rotate the wheel by hand once off the ground and see if you can pinpoint the sound
Have you check the fluid level on the front end recently ?
In my mind a bad bearing would not get better with heat resulting from use.In this cold weather, my front wheel has been squeaking until it warms up. Is a bearing the only thing that could squeak on a B8200?
Just using 90 weight. I’ll check into it though. Thanks! In my mind a bad bearing would not get better with heat resulting from use.
My gut tells me it is likely a stiff seal that is causing the squeak, but also low oil level could contribute. So I would naturally check oil level. Thinking that as it warmed up, the seal would become more flexible.
If you are using normal gear oil in the front axle, instead of UDT or SUDT, perhaps changing to UDT or SUDT might help the issue, if it is related to lack of lubrication of a seal due to cold temperatures, when thicker oil would be less likely to lubricate the seals until it warmed up a bit.
Just a novice thinking out loud here...
I think Pau7220 may have given some good guidance here...well worth checking.Torque the wheel nuts… and look closely for cracks while you’re there.
