My three year old MX5100 has 160 hours. I have changed the engine oil regularly. The manual specifies changing hydraulic oil and filters at 400 hours but it may be awhile before I get there. Does the fluid degrade over time? Should I change hydraulic oil anyway? Short of that, what about changing just the filters?

Not sure about your mx, but my B2650 and most of the other people that post about this, the manual from Kubota says to change engine oil and filter and both hydraulic filters at 50hrs. Hydraulic oil and filters at 400hrs. I would surely replace both hydraulic filters if that has not been done yet.

I would dump it all and start fresh with SUDT2. The first change is the one with all the crap in it so why wait. Have the piece of mind knowing the tractor has fresh fluid and filters. When you see what comes out of it you'll be glad you changed it.

Can you imagine WHAT it looks like a couple years later at 400 hours?:D:)

I agree - first drain is most important fluid change!;)
