It's almost time to replace my mower blades, i have a 60" deck model rck60-30ba.

If the grass ever stops growing i will take it off and replace them it hasn't been cutting very well lately.

Is the bolt that holds them on turn counter clockwise to loosen? or is it backwards.

BTW does anyone know what size bolt holds them on?

And torque wrench too,, yes I am thinking its 30mm remember laying under the deck,,, AFTER you have the tractor jacked up and blocked and brakes set. and the deck all the way up.. It's righty tighty lefty loosy..
NOW when you take the bolt out watch, because there is a set of belleville washers they look to be a flat washer but in fact they do a have a case to them almost like a spring a little cup if you will,, dont flip them around,,,, dont ask :( ... I dont have my book at hand but Im thinking the torque range is 75 to 90 foot pounds. You can go with a grunt and a half if you dont have a torque wrench
Dont forget that hunk of 2x4 to wedge the blade when you take it off and put it back on. Use something like neverseze on the bolts when you put them back in. This is also a good time to grease all the bearings on the deck.

It aint rocket science just think it through first and try to figure what could happen,,,, cause it probably will sometime or another :D

I have a dewalt 20v model DCF887B impact driver it's little and probably not enough torque for a 30mm bolt it does get my wheel lug nuts off but i have been looking at it's bigger brother the DCF899B.

I use it to put long screws in my deck it works better than a normal drill.

And if you are over 50 take two aspirin or Tylenol before you crawl under the deck. You are gonna be sore later on! It is called a pre-emptive strike! .....:)

HA HA i'm in my 40's and am already sore after crawling around on the floor

I actually take the mower deck off and use the loader to flip it up side down to clean up. That thing is a beast to handle by yourself almost 400 lbs of mower.

I must really be lazy, I use the loader to lift it on end, and high enough I don't have to bend over.

Boz1989, that's the benefit of have a loader on a tractor you're not working on.

When I need to work on the deck of the B7100 I just pick up the front of the tractor after is deck is disconnected and pull it out.

Yea... those impact drivers are a great tool! I have the socket adapters for mine, but I have yet to try it on anything large.

85Hokie, you displayed that nicely. Now if anyone needs a reason to have another tractor...here it is!!:D
Well the reason that picture was taken......
I ran the B7100 a smidge to close to a 12' tarp laying near by.....sucked that thing up like a vacuum cleaner.....

I had to take the deck OFF and flip and cut the @#$%@%^@ tarp off.....
And that's my story .....sticking to it, much like that tarp to those blades!
