First time poster, and I have a Kubota L3010 HST tractor that I use to maintain my property. I'm hoping someone has a line on a good salvage part operation for Kubota tractors. My hydraulic case cracked and started spewing hydraulic oil yesterday. Part is 010 in the exploded diagram, and is $1100+, and I would love to save some money.

Here are the pictures of the problem.

Curiosity.......
Any idea WHY that might have happened?

Little newer than he often has, but our OTT member @007kubotaguy has helped a lot of folks here with older L parts.

I don't have a clue, I figure I might find out when I pull it off. I've had a leak from the top for a while now as you can see. I probably should have pulled everything off before now. I don't think it would have changed the outcome.

It would seem likely that some particular "event" (stress) would have caused this.
Have you owned the tractor since it was new?

No, I bought it in 2016. The 3 point center link does attach to a plate that bolts on top of this and to the back of the differential above the PTO. All I have for attachments is a 5' brush mower, 5' box blade, and PHD.

I can't imagine if the center link attachment had that much stress it would have cracked there. You can see the flat plate where it attaches that bolts down at the base of the casting. I'm wondering if it wasnt a flaw in the casting?

Give Adams small engine of Greenwich OH a call at 419-685-2264. He is currently parting a L3010 out on ebay. Also note this particular part was used on 26 Kubota models. So when calling around for salvage, you're not just limited to one off a L3010. Messicks shows the 25 other models you'll find this part on.
That was either a bad casting from the manufacturer, or someone had a 3-point backhoe attachment on it once. They are guaranteed to find the weak spot on a machine. I have a toplink reinforcement bracket on mine. But I don't know if that would have done you any good anyway.

Thanks, I've already cross referenced the part to other models. Still no luck from the places I've contacted. I have the same toplink plate on my tractor.

I know for sure Wengers in Myerstown, PA has an L4600 on the lot…. I was eyeballing the wheels on it. https://www.wengers.com/

EDIT: When I got the reading glasses, it saw the cross model was L4610

Give them a call anyway…. They had my gear case.

A case from a L4600 does not cross over to his tractor.

EDIT: We have criss crossed on edits. ;)

Thank you, they still had the correct part. I called this morning at 6 am and the part is being shipped my way. $500 plus freight just sounded better than full price new. My house has just killed me this last month and my budget is blown.

I'm wondering if I didn't blow a seal in the hydraulic cylinder, and when my PHD dropped if the piston didn't hit the top of the case causing the crack? I figure I'll be rebuilding the hydraulic cylinder while I'm inside anyway.

It will be intersting to see what the inside looks like. Please post a pic of it when you get it off as I'm curious (and guessing others too) to see it from the inside.
