I have a BX2660 and BX2680 that require regular service. In changing the old and filter I have become frustrated with the oil filter wrenches I have. I tried a band wrench that works if I pull the shroud off and remove the sensor wire next to the filter, and I tried a strap wrap wrench. Neither worked as I would like. I was searching for a socket wrench to fit the filter which has 15 flutes and is somewhat odd. In searching the NAPA website I found an adjustable tool that fits the end of filters and is driven with 3/8" square as in a ratchet. I saw 2 sizes and ordered both. I got the smaller one, Carlyle part number 63600 first and tried it. It worked well for what I was doing. 1 BX2660 without removing the side panels, 1 Honda 5518, 1 JD 2032R, and a JD xuv835R Gator. I am pleased at finding it and thought maybe someone else could benefit. Oil Filter Wrenches SER 63600 | Buy Online - NAPA Auto Parts (napaonline.com) I have included a link for reference. The larger one is part number 63250. These appear to be manufactured by Lisle. A search using the part number yields other suppliers.

I have bought all kinds of oil filter wrenches - the BX series does make a bit a PITA to get a tool in there for sure.

I have both of the cups (3/8 ratchet drive) and I find that those work really well - BUT, I have to take a paper towel and place INSIDE the cup to take up the littlest bit of slack to get the friction to bite on the outside of the filter.

I also do NOT have to move the hood on either of my BX's to remove the oil filter.

I have a couple of those style from before my kubota. They were the best to get subaru filters off as there is no room for hands or tools there either.

I use a cheap version of this with three fingers. I am yet to find a filter that it does not work on.
On a really stuck filter it will clamp down and crush the filter before it slips.

I have a ton of different ones, but it's usually for the 1st oil change.

Then I make sure to "not put them on so tight". I just give them a 1/4 to 1/3 turn after the o-ring touchs.

Then taking off again is easily done by hand. Just a suggestion.

if clearance allows like on the bigger tractors I like these. Made by lots of companies. We call them chain pliers not sure official name. They be pretty cheap. Not sure if BX clearance would allow though.

A strip of sandpaper works too. I "use to" use old beltsander belt.

I have done that too - finding a piece of paper towel is easier to find!!! But the sandpaper is def mo better.

I came here to say this. When the original wrench OP posted fails, you get one of these. Only thing they don't work well on is the cartridge filter housings.
Though if you do your own filter changes it's not as necessary I guess. Don't have to deal with overzealous lube techs.

This is the good version.
