It's amazing the amount of dirt the BX was able to move in 4 hours.

That's some nice looking soil...here in Maine we have rocks(big rocks) everywhere we dig and the soil is gold color full of iron. If my soil looked like that I might be a lazy farmer and plant something.

That should make a great pistol range! Nice work!

You might want to pack it down a bit and seed it. We built ours according to specs for a commercial range and it's held up well, another eroded really bad.

cool.

I really need to finish my gun range. Right now its only really big enough for one person to shoot safely. But my land it flat, flat, flat, so I went with railroad bridge timbers for the backstop.

I have some berms that will make a good back stop, but unless I dig out in front, Ill be shooting downhill. We learned the hard way, all clay and hard pan here. One neighbor has a D6 the other has a Komatsu excavator, they each want $50 an hour plus diesel for any work. Spendy but I cant move earth here like I could in Guilderland....

just bought 37 acres and will be building a 200 yard range this spring. have an area that was logged and will do nicely. There is a shed at work they no longer want that is going to make a very nice bench house.

I made my backstop about 12' tall but it was pushed up with my dozer.

What kind of targets do you plan on using?

One more project to add to my project list. I have an area along side my driveway where I wouldn't have to take out any trees, I coupled put in a 150 yard backstop, and shoot from the covered carport in front of my shop. I think I'll make a small area 50' and 50 yards to shoot from also. My goal is not to have to clear a stand of trees to have a clear shooting lane. . I have a stack of 16' PT 2x12's to make a backstop and side wings to pile dirt up to. I have AC power there too, so I might even put a roof over it and lights. The project list keeps getting longer

I am jealous of you guys that can build a range in your back yard :(
Being from Massachusetts, I'm suprised they will let anyone there have a shooting range. You can always move to a free state! I've lived and worked all over from Cali to Alaska, I could never live in a big city again, or a restrictive blues state. Just me...

No turbine but take a close look at the one on the left.
He was named Tyrone the rapist.
Then we have Pam
And last Mike the body builder

My guys at work started out with full size people. Had my stockpile driver laying out on plate so they could trace him out to get the designs. I made them cut it back to half size and this is what they came up with.

I live away from the city luckily, just not enough land to set something up. I am only about 4 miles from my gun club though and a buddy has 9 acres a few towns over that we can shoot at. Unfotunately, until I can convince the wife's family to move we are stuck here for a bit!
