Probably to keep up with the Jones's. I haven't looked for a long time but I believe the opposition machines travel a lot faster than the botas, but I could be wrong?

There are factory RTV's that do 85mph!
I've ridden in RTV's that do 100+mph , in the right environment they can be real fun. :D

I am sure that Kubotas angle is 2 fold. First would be getting the younger crowd to buy their RTV. FYI every RTV I have sold to a customer has had more salt then pepper in the hair.;)

Another market that they want is the emergency services. The current units appeal greatly to every municipality I have spoken to, but when they here the max speed, they get up and say "sorry we need speed":(

Speed is of no value if they don't know how to use it, and I doubt most municipality's will spring for the training so they can really be used to their fullest capabilities. But it wouldnt be the first time I was wrong this week,,,lol

And the fact that Polaris now has air conditioning, heat and heated seats in their Ranger 1000's that have a 60 plus MPH top speed.

I'm betting the Kubota will still be way better built though. I recently bought another brand new Polaris ATV and am really disappointed in the build quality, component quality and dealer and Polaris corporate care compared to my 05 and 09's.
All kinds of issues and recalls.....and they even charge you a deductible to use the warranty!!!
Currently working out a deal to trade all three of my Polaris in on a new RTV1100 cab.

Die hard Honda fan here. I love my big red, and when it is time to replace it, it will be with another Honda side by side. 8 years old, never been in a shed and used every single day. Have changed nothing but the air filter and oil and filter. Even has the same tires (they need changed bad though).

Why? You buy Bota for work and Polaris for play.

With Ethanol in most gas, Im done with spark plugs unless its fuel injected. Even then, I had issues with starting in subzero temps with gas older than 2 weeks.

$$ signs at 40 mph and a sharp turn. Insurance will be high. Five point harness still leaves arms flopping around as you roll. Had a street legal sandrail.

I stopped at the dealers yesterday, and a young man came out and we chatted for a few, and I asked so whats new for the shop. He said all kinds of stuff from the meeting, and they are coming out with a new side by side, I said I know its all over the net, the look on his face was priceless,, like WTF how did you know about it its suppose to be a secret. I didnt have the heart to tell him where I heard about it.

I have a polaris Razr that I bought new in 2013. we use it regularly, the bed although small, is rarely empty. I use it for my field welding and tool hauler. I frequently go 30-40 mph on rural roads or known land, it traverses minor terrain very easily and smooth. we've used it to heard cattle etc, a little speed and capable for some good cornering is ideal. I love having the razr for this. it has been bullet proof so far. not one single issue. not even a battery yet. I have but 2 regrets with it. the bed is stupid small and not as usable as I'd like. I'd prefer a metal bed of decent build with a higher capacity weight wise and larger (especially deeper) bed. and it sucks for constant low speed work (spraying) we do use it for spraying, but it just isn't efficient at it. I've used countless others in my past that are full on UTVs, mules (gas and diesel) a few kubotas, a couple deeres. honestly, I think the build quality on all UTVs for the money spent is absolute crap. I'm still waiting for a better design to come out. my razr is 800 CC and has been more than enough power for anything I wanted. I always ran out of traction before I ran out of power. on an open road it would do 50-55ish. plenty fast enough for me. I always hated how slow other UTVs were that were used for longer trips on smoother roads. not saying you should be doing 60 mph through a forest trail, but not every second is on rough terrain. it was time kubota and others to get on to a bit better speed. I'm anxious to see how it's setup....but I'll bet it's 20k for a stripped down nothing. to me, that's far too rich.

I have a Polaris Ranger 900 with a full cab and heat. Its been great bought it new in 2013. Looked HARD at Kubota's RTV1100C at the time and while build quality was better than the Polaris the Kubota was just too painfully slow, I could not imagine driving that thing from section to section here in rural ND. Went Ranger and glad I did its a workhorse that can play also.

I bet the 900 does get up and go. I don’t have a UTV yet, but I know from experience my 850xp sportsman will flirt with speeds in excess of 80 mph. In retrospect, with how I normally use it I should’ve just gone with the 570... but the 850 sure is fun when I do rarely tap into all the horsepower. I can’t imagine what the 1000+ machines are like.

UTVs are awesome for on-road use. I drive mine all over the place within 10 miles of the house. Crappy mileage (15mpg) but that improved by going with dual purpose street compound tires that transformed the ride and noise. Mine will go 60 but it "likes" 40-45 without complaining much. Its my mini pick-up that doesn't take up much garage space.

Polaris is built with the same quality high-end RVs are built with. They have some quirks but, if you can live without full throttle each ride, don't think they are submarines, and you can keep all four wheels on the ground, you'll get a lot of reliable service out of them.

Your seat-belted into a roll cage. Compare that to protection on a trail bike. I'd much rather have someone hit me in my Ranger than one of my cycles.

Took mine to the dealer for a heat shield recall. They were offloading pallets of new Razor and Can Am machines from a semi. The service guy said, if I had a bag of cash, the earliest I could get a 4-seater dune machine would be March. That is how far they are backlogged out here.

All I know is, in a couple years, these things are going to be going for a dime a dozen used.
