motor runs rough at times.

I recently bought a used BX25D with about 1100 hours. Occasionally while travelling / using front end loader, motor runs rough / bogs down as if it's under heavy load. I'll immediately stop tractor, take hands and feet off any controls so there should be no load on motor, sometimes it will run smoother after a short time, or if not I'll switch tractor off for a while. I've replaced engine oil and filter, 2 x fuel filters and added fuel system cleaner.
Any ideas on what to check next would be greatly appreciated.

What did the fuel filters look like? Black or dark?

Do you hear a clicking sound when turning the key?

Guessing (1) algae in the tank, or (2) lift pump not working right.

I too would check ALL filters ....... air would be constant however if the problem, fuel on the other hand could be hit and miss. As mentioned - when you turn key, you hear clicking? a constant click....... if not - sounds like fuel pump is bad, if that is good - you could have restriction in tank that is flowing around and causing a restriction at different times. Seems to be an ongoing problem in several posts here lately!

Traveling on flat or hilly terrain when problem occurs? If hilly, are you traveling up or down hill when problem occurs?

Have you ever tried to change from uphill to down hill (or vise versa) when you have the problem?

These can indicate the problem is the lift pump that is being mentioned.

Pull the hose off of the front fuel filter outlet, put a piece of hose on the filter, and hang it over a bucket, or fuel can. Turn the key switch to the run position and watch your fuel flow from the hose. If you get no fuel, your electric lift pump is not running or has failed. If you get just a trickle, your fuel tank outlet is plugged. Go under the tractor, pinch off the hose from the tank to the first filter and remove the hose from the inlet side of the filter. Put a drain pan under the hose and remove the clamp from the hose, you should get a full stream of fuel from the hose. If you don't, remove the fuel fill cap, put a rag over the opening, and shoot a small blast of air into the hose. You should now have a full stream of fuel and you know that you have debris in the fuel tank. Have your clamp-off tool ready or quickly put the hose back onto the filter.
The only way to know that you get the tank clean is to remove and wash it out. It takes me about 3 hours to do the job.

Filters were a bit dark.
Yes I hear clicking, pump worked OK to prime filters after I changed them.
Draining / cleaning tank is going on my "to do" list.

At the moment I'm working on fairly flat but bumpy ground.

Removed fuel tank, found outlet (right angle) had muck in it. Cleaned tank, outlet, fuel line.
It'll be a couple of days before I'm sure that problem has been sorted.

I had the exact problem you describe, what I found was there is a 90 degree bend coming out of fuel tank that had debris in it. Cleaned crap out, no more problem. Removing fuel tank was a fair bit of work though.
