I picked up a TG1860G that has a leaky HST and a bit of whine/hesitation. I'm looking for part number(s) for rebuilding with all new seals, but can't seem to find any references or even diagrams. Do they make rebuild kits for these or does every piece need to be ordered individually? If anyone has numbers/diagrams or some pointers on where to find them it'd be appreciated!

Orangekuby, welcome to the forum. Not knowing your location puts limitations on ability/cost to ship some items. I have a TG1860 unit I may part with, not sure.

Thanks for the link RCW, I can't believe I didn't find that in my searches. It looks like messicks carries a lot of parts.

D2Cat, I'm in the upper midwest. Shipping a transmission unit would probably be expensive, but maybe worth it if I priced out everything I need. I'll have to do some research first. Also, are the TG1860 diesel trans units different than the gas?

They only offer a few parts for those HST's. Filter, gasket, bolts, etc. Look on the diagrams. If there's no arrow or no reference number, that part is not available. Such is the case with these TG HST's. I personally don't like to work on them but will if asked. There is not a lot of information in the WSM for these transmissions.

I've never gotten the "pan" (lower cover) off of one without breaking at least one of the bolts off. They are star head. Inverted torx whatever you call them. Then once inside, if you pull the filter, hold it's seat down in the case. If you just yank on it, a check ball tends to fall out and there is NO information as to where that sucker goes, and I mean none. So once that's laying in the bottom (actually the top) of the case, since the case is upside down on the bench, now you have to figure out where it fell out of. I can tell you this: There are several places it can fit but only one works. If misplaced, the HST will not work. If just left out, it will not work. Been there done that. Hydrogear (they build that HST) doesn't know. Kubota doesn't have the drawings for it other than what the WSM shows. All of the Kubota factory guys I've spoken with said that if it's not leaking, leave it alone, and if it is you're in for a "treat". So far they've been 100% spot on!
