Loader pins not fully engaging?

New L3902. I noticed with both my pallet forks and bucket, neither of the “square things” bottom out on the nuts when I lock in the SSQA arms. On my grapple one of the two does bottom out, and that pin protrudes through the bottom of the attachments a bit further.

Are the “square things” supposed to bottom out on those nuts?

When in the locked position the spring should be compressed like it is in the image.

There should be a gap between the nut and the block. If they were to contact, you would have less spring pressure on the attachment pins.

The spring keeps pressure on the tapered locking pin, and also keeps the handle in the locked position like an over-centre latch. The square block only needs to contact the nut to lift the pin when disengaging. I made my own and looked at a lot of different ones at the time - I reckon yours looks pretty normal.

Thanks guys. Looking at this again I’m wondering if something is bent on the loader. The implement doesn’t seem to seat like it should. It makes contact at the top of the SSQA and the bottom where the pins are at, but there is a gap at the face.

When I drop the loader on level concrete one side is a bit higher than the other.

Appreciate the input.

Ok you are having 2 different issues:
Neither is really the a SSQA latch issue

First the tilt is not the SSQA because the loader arms are at different heights to the floor.
To check this, first thing check the wear on the rear tires and check rear tire pressure.
Front tires have nothing to do with the tilt.
If the wear is the same and the pressure is the same then you will need to check the towers and see if the are at the same angle, if they are then it's bent arms (rare).

Next on the SSQA plates.
Remove the bucket and check that each plate is at the same angle, this is called clocking, bet one is ahead of the other a little bit.
It really won't hurt anything, but if this is an issue, just ask and I can explain how to fix it.

In your third picture, if you had a big protractor and placed it against that plate, both sides should be the same. That is what North Idaho Wolfman is describing. I'll bet you have one plate twisted a bit more then the other.
