Hello folks, I own a 2007 L39 (747hrs on it) and it has developed a oil leak from what I believe to be the timing cover gasket. I bought the replacement gaskets, crank seal and a new water pump since I’m this far into the repair. So it seems the previous owner had some work done to it. Looks as if they cut the plate that is connected to the side frames and sits directly in front of the engine and blocks the removal of the crank pulley. (The did weld it back in).... it appears they put some kind of sealant on the crank seal. My guess they may have been chasing this oil leak as well and got to the timing cover and changed their mind. Well this is my issue now and it’s getting fixed. For me to remove the timing cover I see part of the throttle system is sharing this timing cover. For me to pull the cover is there anything I can majorly screw up in there ? At this moment I don’t have a repair manual for it and can’t find much on the internet. I’m to the point I am going to cut that plate again and pull the crank pulley off. Water pump is off and all the bolts to the timing cover except the very lower ones are off.
