L3010D Timing Alignment Question

Working on replacing the governor-throttle levers and need some assistance on how to align the marks up on the four front gears. There are 4 sets of marks 1 dot, 2 dots, 3 dots, and 4 dots. I've turned the engine over about 5-6 timing and not able to get any of them to line up.

Do I keep turning it over till they all align?

Do all marks need to line up? (1-dot to 1-dot) (2-dot to 2-dot) and so on?

yea it shows how they all line up. Was talking to a local guy and he said they only line up around ever 80 to 100 turns. Not sure if that is true but it make sense because after turning it over 10-15 times its not close at all.

you line them up once and then don't worry with it. That's the easiest way to explain it.

guy who told you that the marks don't line up again for many revolutions is correct.

I did an L3000 years back and thought to myself, hey how many revolutions of the crankshaft does it take to get the marks to line up again? Just for giggles I tried it. I think I got to 57 revolutions and said screwit as my arm was getting tired of turning the engine over.

A certain JD (Yanmar) engine took 33 revolutions. I "think" it was a 3TN82-RJX but I don't remember. Been over 20 years.

If I remember correctly, it 128 revolutions to line back up.
