dealer quoted $29,000. looking to go the 84 mo. route with 20% down. This puts the payment at $315. They are sticking firm to this number just wondering what others have paid.

Also torn between r4's and turfs. Dealer assures me the turfs will not dissapoint and will be much kinder when i need to drive across the lawn. My work is a mix of woods clearing, landscaping and snow pushing. The r4's just seem like a much all around tire. He tells me they become very hard around 40 degrees and stink in the snow/ice.
Thanks!

I am gonna go against the common thought....I would get the R4's.....

I have 2 machines that I use with turfs.....and the tread is in good shape, do they leave marks on grass? nope.....NOR does my R4's on my heavier machine.......

For the last 2 days I have been going up a good incline (15 degree), sometimes a little wet....the turfs will NOT do it , 4wd or anything else.

Now - there are those that say - turfs on snow is the cats ass......

I want to see that - a tractor going up a 10 degree with turfs vs R4's.....on snow or packed snow in 4wd

You will not hurt a thing going across the yard with R4's - if wet, and if in 4wd and if you turn hard, sure you will tear the yard up....but for woods based "stuff" AG's or R4's are the way to go, in MHO:)

Go on to www.kubota.com there you can choose the build your own function and put together your tractor. Once completed it will give you the mrsp pricing. I just did it and it looks like the price quote you received is really high. I don't know where you are located, but I would find another dealership to get a price from to compare.

Well from my experience, I find the Turfs much better in Winter than R4's. I have had both on the same tractor at different times, and found the Turfs just out perform the R4's in Winter. Results can certainly vary. I would be hesitant to use the Turfs in rougher conditions or in the woods. The puncture resistance is just not there with the Turfs, and if you hit a teeny amount of mud...you are done. You won't be going anywhere. Thats just what I have observed. It doesnt mean that your results will be the same.

The price on the tractor you were quoted does seem high, unless you are in Canada. For whatever reason, everything here in Canada is "Stupid Expensive". I too took advantage of the 0% Financing, and 84 Months. But I put 70% down so my payment is teeny.

L3901 with R4's No way was I going with turf tires! I do sink in a bit in the lawn when its really wet. If I make a ruts I just walk over them with my shoes it gone in a few weeks.

If its pretty flat turf might be ok. prepare to use chains and weights for snow.

I went Ag tires on mine. The heck with the yard, its not a lawn mower anyways. Thats my two cents.

If you are encountering real mud, I would vote for AGs as well. R4s are really just a more puncture proof turf tire. I love my r4s, but I have no mud to speak of.
