I have virtually no brakes.Dont know why,Brake pedal engages levers on both sides. It seemed to happen fairly quickly.I slash a fair bit and it is possible a stick engaged the pedal without me realising.what is my first move?

Jack it up take the rear wheels off and see if you have and material left on the break shoes to stop the tractor with. So far it sounds like you need new break shoes.

Eric, does your tractor have drums and shoes like a pickup? I've never seen one. These tractors have internal wet brakes. They were designed for rice paddy work.

Philkent, check the brake pedal freeplay and adjust if necessary as birddogger suggested. Book value is 1.18-1.57".

Did this come up all of a sudden, and is it both sides?

Yeah I just did the breaks on my B6100E 2 years ago and they are automotive style break shoes and drums.

Yeah I could see that being a problem in the mud. But the kinda work I do if I'm in the mud with the tractor I'm doing more harm then good so I tend to stay out of the muck!

Excellent. Thank you very much for returning to post about resolving the problem. That helps a lot in the future for others searching similar symptoms.
