Hello and thank you,
I just acquired a L235 that has been sitting for 5 years plus. I got the engine running fine and found clutch seized to the flywheel. I removed the flywheel before marking it. problem #1. service manual just states mark it before you take off. is their a proper position. I believe that their is?
Problem 2 the original reason the tractor was parked 10 years ago was the rear wheels do not turn. The Front will engage and run fine. I have already split the tractor at the clutch for replacement. I am fairly mechanically inclined and have the tools and equipment to do it. Is their something common with this tractor for loosing rear wheels.
With both rear wheels off the ground the Right rear makes some noise in the tranny when spun in or out of gear. The left rear has some resistance in final drive but doesn't make the same noise in tranny. I can spin shaft that goes into the clutch.
I am wondering what I can screw up if I split the tranny and diff. Or is their somewhere else I should start?
Thanks again for any input.
