Hope, MI
I have 4 different tire brands on my new to me 1982 L235 dt. I need to replace a front tire that is shot and split in the side wall. It is a Bridgestone 24x8.50x14. The other front is in good shape and is a Carlisle multi trac c/s, it also is a 24x8.50x14.

Question 1: what brand of tire originally came on the L235? It seems that the tire diameters for the same size tire change from brand to brand and I would like to know what the original ones were for a reference point.

Question 2: the owners manual says fronts for the DT should be 25x8.50x14, 25's are .9 inch bigger in dia. than the 24's on it now and may affect the 4 wheel drive ratios. Should I just put another Carlisle 24" on, (probably been that way for years) or change them both out to factory specs=25x8.50x14? (more $$$)

the rears are correct, 13.6x16 but two different brands.
It seems to work ok now with no binding in 4 wheel but may not be to good in the long haul, Thanks.

Couldn't tell you who made the originals, best guess would be Firestone or Goodyear.

Having the right tire sizes is critical for the smooth running of the 4wd system, but with as much tolerance as that system has, you will be fine as long as your close, so yes the right thing to do would be to go with the 25's but the 24's will be fine.

The original tires were the Bridgestone Pillow Dia's.
The Carlisle brand is within tolerance rolling circumference wise so no problem
running them. Personally I'd change the others as soon as I could afford to
and keep the old one's for back up spares in case I ruined one and had to wait to get another tire if I needed to use it until the new one arrived. The Carlisle
tires are more than likely half the price of the Bridgestone's as a bonus so it's
a no brain'er what's the best bang for the buck to boot.

Sorry I forgot to write that the 24's on the front are the correct original size
tires for for your tractor the book isn't always correct or never corrected if
miss printed.
