KX 71 excavator

I have a Problem with my KX71. One of the ground travel control levers got floppy and won't return to neutral. The linkage is free and lubricated. My question is, do the springs in the valve body center the control arms? There are no external springs so I'm assuming that's the case. Otherwise, the controls work fine.

Yes there are cups on both sides of the spring that make it center.
No other springs on the levers, and FYI the levers should move very easy as they have bearing in them.
