hello, I have a b2150 hst and I am having a problem during cold weather operation. The tractor will start just fine and I let it warm up for several minutes before operating. The problem that ive been having occurs when I try to shut it off, the key switch will not work. This has happened twice this year and both times I had to use the manual fuel kill switch. Then both times I tried to start the tractor right after and it doesn't even turn over. The strange part is if you let it sit for a few minutes it will start and shut down like normal. Anyone else have this problem? thank you for your time

Sounds to me that something "in" the mechanics of the switch is bad, going bad........a switch is simple a set of contacts that allow electrons to flow across.
By chance - any signs of mice chewing on the wires? I would look at buying a new switch,

found this statement :
" bought a B2150 4 years ago, it is a 1987 and it has 1900 hrs on her, she came with a 60 inch belly mower, and turf tires, I paid $6,000. I have since sold the belly mower on E-bay for $800. and have added a 48" scraper blade, bush hog and front end loader. The only issue that I have had with it is the key switch will not always shut off the engine and I have to pull the fuel cut off lever to shut her off"

seems that someone else has had the same problem.

looking up the switch.......ouch ....$75 bucks......

Sounds to me like it might have a bad stop relay or fuel stop solenoid.
I also think there is a interlock that will not let the tractor restart for a short period of time to allow the fuel stop solenoid to work.
